Julien Baker Bares It All With New Single ‘Appointments’ [Stream]

Memphis singer/songwriter Julien Baker shows her vulnerability on “Appointments,” the first track from her upcoming sophomore album Turn Out The Lights. Julien never holds back when it comes to telling her story, which is why her fans are so intimately dedicated to her work. Backed by ambient guitars and sparse instrumentation, Julien’s lyrics are at the forefront here, sharing feelings of profound shame along with a glimpse of hope. She sings, “maybe the emptiness is just a lesson in canvases”, a breakthrough realization that makes this song just as much a lesson as it is an ode.

Turn Out The Lights will be available on October 27th via Matador Records.
