Whitney played an incredible sold out show at Rough Trade on Thursday. The show wasn’t part of a tour, but rather an added feature because the band has been doing press for Colbert and CBS Saturday Morning this week. It was truly a treat for the band’s loyal following. The beautifully talented Julie Byrne opened for the band. The singer/songwriter looks straight out of the early 70s with her long hair, bell bottoms, and ethereal manner. She played songs from an upcoming album which is sure to be breathtaking.

Whitney then took the stage and played their pleasing sounds. There’s something very special about the indie-country-pop band. They’re direct with their up-beat sounds and heartfelt lyric,s and they have a refreshing stage presence. Frontmen Julien Ehrlich and Max Makacek are an incredibly talented duo who truly own the sound they set to create. They mentioned they will be playing new songs at their Brooklyn Steel show in May, so there’s definitely more goodness to come!
